The following items spotted while reading The Sun ...

Yesterday saw the PR launch of the new movie Skyfall and as you see from the paper's one page coverage with top heading of 007 DEMANDS BED FOR TWO and main heading of Dan's double ooh heaven there's more interest in Craig's sleeping arrangements with new wife Rachel Weiz. Also a revealing insert photo of new Bond girl Berenice Marlohe who "was a huge hit when she stripped off on French TV drama Equipe Medicale D'Urgence." Not seen in the photo is a bottom demand list of WHAT BOND WANTS including "a coffee machine" - stirred not shaken I hope Dan ! ( 04/11 ) ...

A top right item in the entertainment section titled 767 FOR 007 claiming "Daniel Craig won't be short of those small bags of nuts while he shoots the new Bond film ..[as he] will be flown around the globe in luxury because [Bond supporter] Sir Richard Branson has laid on one of his finest Virgin planes." It also states "Scenes for Skyfall are mostly going to be shot in the UK but they'll also be filming in Shanghai and Istanbul. [Also] Director Sam Mendes will pay homage to the Indiana Jones rope bridge battles. 007 will have it out with a villain on a rickety affair like in Temple Of Doom." Get swinging Dan ! ( 15/11 ) ...

A three paragraph item titled ASTON THRILLER confirms again "the silver Aston Martin from James Bond film GF has been voted Britain's favourite movie car .. by car mag Auto Express." Also in "the top ten - 1976 Lotus Esprit from TSWLM and [surprisingly] the Citroen 2CV from FYEO." It also reminds that "the 1963 DB5 driven by Sean Connery, sold for £2.6 million at auction last year." Great re-sale value despite wear & tear ! ( 16/11 ) ...

A five paragraph item titled Judi is a class act as Bond actress "Dame Judi Dench has taken a starring role - in a school Christmas play. The Oscar-winning actress, 76, has recorded the voice for the Giant character in musical Into The Woods ..[for] the production at Giggleswick School in Settle, North Yorks, after being approached by a pupil...[She] has been a patron of the school's Richard Whiteley Theatre for the past four years." That's the Xmas spirit Judi. ( 18/11 ) ...

A Sun Spot paragraph tells of "the naval jacket belonging to James Bond creator Ian Fleming yesterday sold for £13,750 - double its estimated price - at an auction in London." A pricey fit .. how much for the trousers ? ( 23/11 ) ...

Three items ..

1. On page 3 a right column announces NOW LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY 007.. Geek! It's a new Q claiming "James Bond will have a rival in the hunk department after rising star Ben Whishaw was cast as the new super-geek Q. Handsome Ben will be the youngest actor to play the MI6 gadget master - and at 31 is 12 years younger than 007 star Daniel Craig." The source[?] comments include "bold decision ... far more serious". Also pictured are previous Qs - Desmond Llewelyn & John Cleese. Young Wishaw is re-united with Craig after "2004 gangster film Layer Cake" and will "introduce himself as Bond's new 'Quartermaster' in Skyfall." Good luck to Ben following in Desmond's steps who was much loved by 007 fans.
2. In the Entertainment section an item titled IT'S RICKETY GERVAIS ... claims comedy actor "Ricky Gervais could be tottering on .. as a mischievous pensioner. .. [The] pilot for a new series, provisionally entitled Derek, set in a retirement home. Ricky plays the lead - but Sean Connery is on the brink of signing up for a part too." Hope not, enjoy your 'real' retirement in the Bahamas Sir Sean !
3. The Motoring section has a column item titled STAR CARS which claims "James Bond is set to take a drive down memory lane in his latest movie, currently being filmed. Inside sources [?] say Daniel Craig's 007 will be driving a Sixties Aston Martin DB5 in movie Skyfall. .. The plot ..- Bond's 50th anniversary - is top secret and no one is saying whether the DB5 will have any special accessories." Here's hoping ! ( 25/11 ) ...

Like tv presenter Jeremy Clarkson's short Saturday story titled ART-STOPPING when he "brought [Bond girl] Gemma Arterton at a charity auction this week and was very much looking forward to taking her home afterwards. ..[Unfortunately he] simply paid to watch her sing Sympathy For The Devil ..[and] was a bit disappointed until she leaped up on stage in her leather trousers." Cheeky Clarkson "wasn't disappointed any more." Aah nice view probably .. ( 26/11 ) ...
